Notable are the par-3s, especially the beautifully framed 15th and the water-edge 17th, which are both visually stunning and formidable to play. While tee shots are often rewarded by generous fairways, the course doesn’t relent on the test: the par-4 third features a tight corridor demanding accuracy, the par-4 fifth is guarded by water on the left, and the closing holes present ever-present threats of water and bunkers that can swiftly snatch away a good score. Beyond the course, the verdant setting affords sweeping views, stretching over the R 21 highway and into the valleys of Groenkloof Nature Reserve, with the imposing silhouette of the Voortrekker Monument gracing the backdrop on a clear day.
