Namastat Lodge and Caravan Park situated in Springbok which lies in a narrow valley surrounded by the Koperberg in the heart of the Namaqualand, 570km north of Cape Town. It is the last major town before Namibia and it is known as the flower capital.
About 3km from Springbok on the N7 you will find Namastat, which comprises of 4 'Nama huts' and 16 campsites.
A Nama hut or matjieshuise is a round hut traditionally made by the Nama tribe out of beautifully crafted reed matting spread on a skeleton of sticks. The Nama language is probably South Africa's last indigenous language still spoken in the greater Namaqualand area and is a remnant of the Khoisan culture which once dominated large parts of the Southern African region.
