Founded in 1906 for the employees of the Van Ryn gold mine and originally called the Van Ryn Country Club, the course started its existence as a 9 hole course but soon changed to the 18 hole course we know today. Today this 18 hole course stretches over 6562m and is a Par 73. One of the interesting points of the club is that they introduced wildlife to the course and Springbok and Blesbok are often seen wandering around, grazing. Apart from golf, the club also has bowls, tennis and squash facilities which ensure its standing as more than just a golf course.
Three function rooms provide facilities for conferences, seminars, weddings, birthday parties and corporate functions and can seat from 20 to 400. The club has excellent cuisine and menus can be adapted to suit the function.
The Benoni Country Club is easily accessible from the N12 Highway.
