Nestled in the heart of Hoedspruit, facing the Drakensberg Mountains and the gates of Kruger Park, the lodge brings a real “French Touch” in an authentically African setting.

Designed by a French couple in love with South Africa, the lodge combines the best of both worlds: the sense of French hospitality, associated with the raw magic of the Limpopo savannah. The result: a unique experience where every moment has been imagined so that you feel both out of place... and like at home.

In this haven of peace, the African nature abounds: antelopes, tropical birds, slender silhouettes of the giraffes... but the spirit of the Swiblati Lodge adds this supplement of soul that transforms a simple stay into a precious memory.

Swiblati Lodge: a deep immersion in nature. The savannah of the Limpopo stretches as far as the eye can see, alive, vibrant. Each day begins with the authentic sounds of the bush: the song of the birds, the distant cries of the animals in one of the most preserved wild sanctuaries in South Africa.

The change of scenery is immediate: we live to the rhythm of the sun, safaris and absolute calm. The air is pure, loaded with hot earth smells. The landscapes alternate between savannah, Drakensberg mountains, rivers and hills. And at each detour, the wildlife reminds us that we share this territory with majestic beings: antelopes, giraffes, zebras, ... visible directly from the lodge.

At Swiblati Lodge, the house becomes a cocoon where you rest between two explorations, where you enjoy a breakfast facing the savannah, where you bathe in the most total calm, rocked by the natural noises of the savannah. Far from the noise, far from the constraints, far from the stress.

In the evening, when the light is soft, we truly understand what “disconnection” means. The immensity of the African sky and the magic of an intact landscape.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Is the Swiblati Lodge suitable for families with children?
As a precautionary measure, the savannah environment implies strict rules: supervised travel, constant vigilance, respect for authorized areas. To ensure safety, we favour adult travellers and teenagers who are able to follow instructions rigorously. If you have family concerns, please contact us: we will evaluate the situation and if necessary, propose suitable alternatives.

Is it possible to walk in the reserve?
It is possible and allowed to walk only on the roads and slopes of the reserve. Nevertheless, this walk remains at your own risk. Never walk or bike after dark. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. Walk in a group rather than alone: the larger the group, the lower the risk. Always keep a safe distance from wild animals, even if they seem peaceful. Respect their space and natural habitat to enjoy your experience safely.

What animals can we see at Swiblati Lodge?
The reserve is full of nice surprises. At the lodge, a watering point attracts many thirsty visitors: giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, zebras, nyalas, koudous and warthogs. The area is a paradise for birdwatchers with a wide variety of birds. Occasionally, you can observe hyenas, leopards or lycaons. At night, genets and porcupines come regularly near the lodge.

Can we touch the animals?
An animal used to receiving food can become intrusive and aggressive if their expectations are not met. This can lead to unpredictable and dangerous behaviors. It is therefore strictly forbidden to feed wild animals; it is a crime punishable by law. The best way to appreciate wildlife is to observe it remotely, respecting its natural behavior. Let us appreciate the beauty of these creatures while maintaining a respectful and safe distance.

Do you organise guided tours and activities?
Yes. Yes. We work with certified guides who know the terrain perfectly. On the program: safaris in vehicles, observation walks, sunrise/sunset, discovery of the bush and wildlife photography. We are at your disposal to provide you with personalized advice and offer you a selection of activities adapted to your desires. With our in-depth knowledge of the terrain, we select the best options to maximize your time and fully enjoy your experience.
