Our Karee Tree Conference Centre and Function Venue can provide world class conference or meeting facilities and small intimate functions from baby showers, to dinners or quiet parties or small weddings of up to 50 people.

Hoopoe Haven Guest Lodge is a small and peaceful country guest house, situated in beautiful Chartwell, just behind Broadacres shopping centre in Fourways. It is positioned on 2 acres of landscaped gardens with nearby Horse trails and a beautiful view of the Magaliesburg Mountains. It is a place to relax and unwind in the peace and quiet of the countryside. One can watch the magnificent birdlife, (over 50 different species have been spotted here), while you have sundowners on the patio or a braai on the upstairs balcony or state-of-art Braai area or a cooling swim in our crystal clear pool, with a beautiful sunset in the background.

The guests staying at Hoopoe Haven Guest House are amazed at the tranquillity and friendly atmosphere and the size and quality of the accommodation.

Accommodation

We have a variety of self-catering accommodation available to suite groups from 1 person to 50 including our 5 bedroomed Lodge building, luxury cottages, budget cottages (also pet friendly) and ultra luxury tents.

Lodge

The lodge consists of the 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, sleeping up to 12 guests which are let out on a bed and breakfast basis normally (please view our web site on Wheretostay under bed and breakfast for details) or we also allow bookings of the entire lodge on a self-catering basis.

Please note there is a two day minimum stay for this option.

Luxury self-catering cottages

The three two-bedroomed cottages in the lodge grounds are absolutely magnificent and ideal for large families or groups from four to 18 guests.

We have three lovely 6-sleeper double volume thatch self catering cottages with the following features:

• Large downstairs bedroom with a queen/king/two twin beds
• Upstairs bedrooms area sleeping 3 or 4 guests with an awesome view of the rest of the lodge
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Lounge with piped satellite TV
• Open plan dining room area
• Bathroom with shower and bath
• Free wifi for email usage

The cottages are within 20 metres away from the pool.

Budget self-catering cottages

Dove Family Garden Cottage

It is absolutely ideal for the family unit, consisting of two adults plus two children. It consists of:

A large air-conditioned double bedroom with a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower

A large fully equipped kitchen with everything you may need to cook with.

The open plan area consists of:

Two huge gum pole bunk beds for the children A dining area A lounge with full DSTV and dvd player It is fully secure with trellidoor gates and panic alarm as well as electrified fence and electronic gates around the premises. The cottage has its own 1000 sq metre garden with garden furniture for you to relax on while you braai your food and your kids play hide and seek in the garden. It is pet friendly as the garden is fenced.

Swallows Nest Cottage

This is a lovely compact one bedroom cottage on our property at the back of the lodge. It is absolutely ideal for the couple who want their own privacy and is very cost effective.

It consists of:

A double bedroom with a queen or 2 single beds with a small bathroom with a shower only.

The open plan area consists of:

A fully equipped kitchen.

A lounge with TV coverage of SABC 1,2,3, etv and piped DSTV.

It is fully secure with trellidoor gates and panic alarm as well as an extra electrified fence and electronic gates around the premises.

Barbet Cottage

This is a lovely compact one bedroom pet friendly cottage on our property at the back of the lodge. It is absolutely ideal for the single person or a couple with or without pets and is very cost effective.

It consists of:

A double bedroom with a queen or 2 single beds with a bathroom with a shower only

The open plan area consists of:

A kitchette with small 2 plate stove and oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and large fridge.

A lounge with full DSTV.

Luxury Tents

We have jumped on the bandwagon of a new concept called Glamping - "GLAMorous camPING" and have recently completed our very first luxury tents The Spotted Dikkop (Sleeps 3) and The Eagle Owl (Sleeps 6). However, these are not just any tents - they combine the luxury you would expect from Hoopoe Haven with the atmosphere of being outdoors, sleeping in a tent and enjoying the spectacular afternoon sunsets and evening stars while sipping on sundowners or enjoying your braai. It is Hoopoe Haven in a tent!

Spotted Dikkop (3 Sleeper) and Eagle Owl (6 Sleeper)

Each of these ultra luxury tents consist of the following:

Built under a large thatch lapa so that you get maximum protection from the elements Tiled bathroom with both shower and bath (hot and cold water) Carpeted bedroom Carpeted lounge with TV (piped satellite) and climate control.

Outside fully equipped kitchen including gas stove under the thatch patio. Eagle Owl has Serengeti flap doors can be opened out in summer or enclosed in winter. Spectacular braai area looking out onto a secluded expanse of lawn and landscaped gardens.
