Yet another social activity revived from a bygone era, the Saturday farmers market, where both locals and visitors to Hermanus congregate to enjoy this outdoor deli experience. There are over 30 trader from the Overberg region who set up fresh produce stalls early every Saturday morning. Organic fruit and vegetables, home-baked breads and cakes, delicious cheeses and yoghurt are few of the delicacies you'll find. Also on offer are plenty of herbs, home-made jams and honey, biltong, Mediterranean foods and Belgian chocolates. Also shop for indigenous plants, fresh-cut flowers and succulents. Remember to set time aside to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and breakfast while the kids play in the Kids Clay area, before taking in all the market has to offer. The market is open every Saturday from 07:30 to 11:30 behind the Montessori School, but remember to come early because all produce is generally sold by 11 am
