Vennebos Cottages provides a selection of self catering cottages in a forest setting near Rheenendal, just 15kms from Knysna in the Western Cape's Garden Route. It is the ideal location for those wishing to wind down and get some peace and quiet. Take time out to walk around and explore our forest or relax next to the pool between the trees.

Rheenendal is a farming community outside of Knysna conveniently located to access beaches (e.g. Buffelsbaai), mountains, villages, restaurants, shops and markets (a.o. Wild Oats market every Saturday morning in Sedgefield). On our guest farm you can swim, gym, walk, relax and have a good braai.

Vennebos has 3 cottages. (Group bookings for up to 7 people are possible).

Cottage 1

Cottage 1 is small but well equipped. The cute cottage is perfect for a couple, single person or a parent travelling with one small child. Suitable for the young at heart and not suitable for tall people. Taller people are welcome to stay in our cottages 2 or 3.

The kitchenette offers breakfast making necessities and you can cook a simple meal in the electric frying pan.

The lapa is perfect for an outside dinner (2 burner stove, fridge etc). You can prepare your food in the lapa, have a braai there and sit outside on warm or cold nights.

Cottage 2

Cottage 2 is charming and practical at the same time. The bedroom can be set up such that it is suitable for a couple or 2/3 single occupants.

The location between the trees and the pool / lapa (with braai and pizza making facilities) is perfect. It is situated in the middle of our 8ha property. Here you can walk, swim, gym and relax.

Rheenendal is a farming community with beautiful mountain views and vast open spaces.

The upstairs bedroom has two single beds that either can be positioned as a king bed or as twins / two separate beds. Moreover, we can place a third bed (single) and an additional person could sleep there as well.

Please note that we live solely of filtered rain water. You'll see the rain water tanks next to your cottage. We ask you kindly to use water wisely.

Cottage 3

Cottage 3 is the ideal winter getaway as it has underfloor heating, a luxury electric blanket for the bed and a separate heater to keep you warm. The queen-sized bed is comfortable and has quality bedding on it.

Cottage 3 has a bathroom with a shower, a small kitchenette (no stove) with a microwave and an electric frying pan. The cottage has basic breakfast making facilities. In the close-by lapa you can use the braai, cooking facilities and/or use the gym and pool.

Welkom

Vennebos heeft 3 cottages (voor maximaal 7 mensen). De cottages hebben ieder hun eigen buiten zitplaats maar er is ook een gemeenschappelijke ruimte bij het zwembad waar je kunt braaien, koken, gymen en gezellig keuvelen.

Cottage 1: een tiny house met een 2 persoons-slaapruimte boven. Beneden is een kitchenette, zitruimte en de badkamer met douche/wc. Niet geschikt voor lange mensen.

Cottage 2: de knusse benedenruimte heeft een keuken, een zitgedeelte met haard en een badkamer met douche/wc. De slaapruimte is boven. Hier kunnen we een 2 persoons bed opzetten of 2 single beds en er kan eventueel een matrasbed bij voor een 3e persoon.

Cottage 3: een studio-ruimte vlakbij het zwembad. Het chalet heeft een badkamer met douche/wc, een kleine kitchenette en een zeer comfortabel 2 persoons bed.

Onze cottages zijn self-catering, maar als je zin hebt om het makkelijk te doen dan is er een restaurant vlakbij (Portland manor, 3km).

Vennebos is prachtig landelijk gelegen in wijdse open vlaktes met gebergten in de achtergrond. Toch is het maar ca. 15km naar Knysna en haar schitterende lagune. Knysna is klein maar heeft vele winkels, restaurants en biedt talrijke activiteiten aan. Aan de Tuinroute kun je prachtige trips door de verbazingwekkend groene natuur maken vooral als je van de gebaande wegen af gaat. Dit kan met de auto maar ook te voet in Goudveld national park. Verder kunnen we de stranden van Buffelsbaai en Sedgefield aanbevelen. De Wild Oats markt in Sedgefield is een must op zaterdagochtend.

Willkommen 

Vennebos verfügt über 3 Ferienhäuser (für bis zu 7 Personen). Die Cottages verfügen jeweils über einen eigenen Sitzbereich im Freien, aber es gibt auch einen Gemeinschaftsbereich am Pool.  

Vennebos liegt wunderschön in weiten Ebenen mit Bergen im Hintergrund. Dennoch sind es nur etwa 15 km bis nach Knysna und seiner wunderschönen Lagune. Knysna ist klein, hat aber viele Geschäfte, Restaurants und bietet zahlreiche Aktivitäten. Auf der Garden Route können Sie schöne Ausflüge durch die erstaunlich grüne Natur unternehmen, vor allem, wenn Sie abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade unterwegs sind. Dies kann mit dem Auto, aber auch zu Fuß im Goudveld-Nationalpark erfolgen. Des Weiteren können wir die Strände von Buffalo Bay und Sedgefield empfehlen. Der Wild Oats Markt in Sedgefield ist am Samstagmorgen ein Muss. 

Cottage 1: ein winziges Haus mit einem Schlafbereich für 2 Personen oben. Unten befindet sich eine Küchenecke, eine Sitzecke und das Badezimmer mit Dusche/WC. Nicht für große Menschen geeignet.  

Cottage 2: Das gemütliche Zimmer unten verfügt über eine Küche, eine Sitzecke mit Kamin und ein Badezimmer mit Dusche/WC. Der Schlafbereich befindet sich oben. Hier können wir ein Doppelbett oder 2 Einzelbetten aufstellen und es kann möglicherweise ein Matratzenbett für eine 3. Person geben. 

Cottage 3: ein Studiobereich in der Nähe des Pools. Das Chalet verfügt über ein Badezimmer mit Dusche/WC, eine kleine Küchenecke und ein sehr komfortables Doppelbett. 

Unsere Ferienhäuser sind Selbstversorger, aber es gibt es ein Restaurant in der Nähe (Portland Manor, 3 km).
