The Kloof Dam in Clarens is a popular retreat for those looking for a little solitude, a spot of fishing or just a splash to cool off. Oddly, swimming is not quite so popular in the winter months when temperatures dip below freezing.
Driving to the dam is not an option, as access is restricted. A short 5 minute journey on foot once the driving stops is all it takes.
