The Pastorie/Patronage

The Pastorie/Patronage is in Beaufort West which is the birth place of Chris Barnard who in 1967 performed the first heart transplant. Professor Chris Barnard grew up in this home and this is where his ashes have been laid to rest.

This historic area is a lovely visit for the whole family and the gardens are beautiful too. It has a warm, welcoming charm to it. The interior of this home has been restored and refurnished back to as it was when Chris Barnard lived here as a boy with his family.
