The architect H de la Corniliere from Bloemfontein was the designer of the Mediterranean style Waldorf Building, which was erected in 1928 for the Colonial Mutual Insurance Company. The insurance company used the building as its offices, but today the building houses a tearoom and various offices on the first floor and residential apartments on the upper two floors.
A colourful and character filled building, a part of the old city. Set opposite the Supreme Court of Appeal, the Waldorf Building remains a must see on your trip around Bloemfontein.
