Northwest Wheels Festival

Do not miss this opportunity to revive your memories with the wheels of the past. A festival of surprises and an lifetime of experiences. The Northwest Wheel Festival saw its inaugural year in 2012 and is set to become a great annual gathering of motor vehicle fanatics. The festival has a line up which includes veteran cars and pickups, tractors and agricultural implements, carts and coaches, stationary engines, museum displays, demonstrations of farming methods from a bygone era, a beer garden, great food stalls, handmade articles, a playground for children and much much more.

Proceeds from the festival will go towards the restoration project of items in the Potchefstroom Museum. The museum celebrated its 50th anniversary during 2012. Interest from collectors of vintage vehicles has been great and organisers would like to host a festival that will make vehicle collectors proud and that will motivate others to also get involved in protecting this heritage. Participants are welcome to bring vehicles older than 20 years or unique vehicles to attend. It is free to come and showcase your vehicle. This festival will be hosted annually and organisers invite the public to become a part of it. Organizers will do everything possible to make it a great event for all involved.

There are many private collectors who own restore and have a passion for their hobby. This event will create the opportunity for them to come with their collectibles and show off. The festival takes place at Trimpark, Potchefstroom (opposite the Mooi River Mall). You should definitely not miss the opportunity. This is a real family festival for young and old.

The exhibitors of vintage motor vehicles and tools are welcome to contact the organizer Mauritz Meyer at 083 513 6632 or mauritz.meyer@gmail.com . Exhibitors do not need to belong to a club and exhibition space for their vehicles or antique articles are free. Home industries are also offered the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products.
