Horse Rides Through the Cape Winelands
The Horse Rides through the Cape Winelands is a great attraction in the Cape in South Africa. The rides take place daily and take up to 4 to 5 hours. The whole family is invited to enjoy the ride as there are rides for novice to experienced riders. The horseback rides start at 8:45am and 1:15pm. Stellenbosch Winetasting on horseback:
This is a circular route which meets at Delvera wine farm just outside Stellenbosch. The ride includes wine tasting and stunning scenic views. The ride goes to Warwick wine farm and back to Delvera through the vineyards.
Franschhoek Winetasting on horseback:
This is also a circular route from Dassenberg wine farm on Robertsvlei Road, Franschhoek to Rickety Bridge wine farm and Mont Rochelle wine farm where you will get to taste some of the local wines and enjoy complimentary snacks. Enjoy the fresh air and great company along with superb scenic views back to Dassenberg wine farm.

The trails take up to ten people at a time with an experienced guide. The ride will be kept at a walking pace and no galloping will be allowed. Riding hats will be supplied and are compulsory. It is important to let the guide know what your riding experience is and long pants must be worn as well as closed shoes or boots. There is a maximum weight of 95kgs. The riding time is about 2-3 hours with stops at each wine farm which will be approximately 30 £ 45 minutes for tastings.
Remember it is important to use sunscreen, the rides can get hot, a hat and sunglasses will also help. Don't forget to take your camera and a warm jacket.
