Calvinites like meat - big time. So to celebrate this love for meat, Calvinia holds a Meat Feast (VleisFees) every year in August.
Lamb and mutton rank very high on the menu. Have a look around and you'll understand why. (There's not too much else up here.)
Eating all that meat requires a little beer to wash it down. So their's lots of that too, usually followed by some music and dancing in a street party.
