Hornbill Cottage

This spacious and comfortable family house sleeps 2-10 guests! Hornbill Cottage is situated on a large property which is well fenced, safe and very private with enough parking!

The main house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (6 guests) also consist of a spacious lounge , fully equipped kitchen for selfcatering (serves 10 people) and patio with braai facilities!

Apart from a standard fridge , a deep freeze is also provided for the keen fisherman!

PLUS : adjacent flat with 2 bedrooms( 4 beds ) has a shower , kitchenette equipped with a fridge and microwave. The flat is available only if a booking is made for more than 6 guests!

The main bedroom in the main house is air conditioned/ all other rooms have ceiling fans!

Bed linen is supplied , but guests are requested to bring their own bath and beach towels.

There is a TV set and satellite dish as well as DSTV decoder with SABC and e-TV channels. You can bring your own standard decoder with card- Explora decoder is not suitable for the provided infrastructure !

The house is serviced daily except on Sundays and public holidays. A small lockup safe is available in main bedroom.

Smoking is only allowed on the patio and outside!


St Lucia : Things to do and see!

Interesting shops and a wide selection of restaurants are within walking distance from Hornbill Cottage. Shops also include 3 supermarkets, butcheries and bakeries, curio shops ,pubs, the ever popular local fruit and curio market , liquor stores, info, laundromat and Post Office!

There is a Fnb Branch in town!

A two hour boat cruise on the lake will take you closer to hippos and crocodiles as well as a wide selection of birds e. g. fish eagle, kingfisher, giant heron ,loeries and hornbills.

Horse riding and walking rails are also available and remember to visit the croc centre where the Nile Crocodile can be viewed.

Hippos and crocodiles can also be viewed from the Ski Boat Club- this club is popular for its pub and delicious meals!

Deep sea fishing trips, guided turtle tours, whale and dolphin watching are offered by several tour operators in town. The 29km trip to Cape Vidal takes you through the Isimangaliso Game Park which accommodates game like zebra, rhino, waterbuck, buffalo, wild dogs , kudu and elephant. At Cape Vidal you can enjoy swimming in a protected bay, snorkeling ,off-shore angling and kite surfing!
